Since the funding for Vancouver arts has been slashed so drastically, there is a pool of incredible artists that are left unsupported. One option is to give up on the scene in general…but we see it differently. This is a time to start a renaissance of our own. With all the power in the hands of the artists themselves, it’s time to band together and SPREAD.
MOFUNCITY and TRIFECTA have partnered with Chapel Arts, Vancouver’s most… unique gallery, to showcase emerging talents within the city. One BIG opening on June 3rd will be supplemented with four weeks of showings May 26th-June 16th. Our main focus is to provide a platform and plenty of coverage to make sure the names and the works are SPREAD.
Submissions are open to any visual art: performance, media. sculpture, ceramics, installation, painting, printmaking, drawing, design. There is no specific theme other then the promotion of the 50 selected artist. Artists will show for 3 weeks. Many works will be conceptual but others may be formal. Each work will be available for sale at or less then $300 with some works being unmontizable. There will be a fully staffed sales table: 100% of sales on the evening of the event will go to the artist, 90% on any other date within the month.

PERFORMANCE: have the option of using a stage or the venue/place. We give you free reign with your concept. Include a detailed idea/outline of proposed work.
